A group class where our students learn the ins and outs of nailing a music theatre audition. It couples the technical attention to detail of a singing class, with the emotional and story-telling nuance of an acting class, culminating in a total embodiment of character and song. Each week, students workshop their music theatre piece on the DHPC stage, performing to their coach and peers. Students learn to break down a song into its many components before building it up to a fully rounded performance. This class also gives students the invaluable opportunity to learn to work with other artists, as they would in a full-scale production, exploring ensemble and movement work, and connecting to their scene partner in song. All artists are given the opportunity to perform live in an upmarket venue in Prahran every six weeks to practice and hone their public performance skills.
